For a family saga, I actually enjoyed this one. Most of the characters are developed in a way that makes the reader actually care about them. It was a quick read as well and I didn't have problems keeping up with the characters (after the initial confusion wore off LOL).

Once I got past the ridiculousness of Kate's high-school grudge towards Jake, I truly enjoyed this book. I don't care who you are, I think everyone can relate to SOMETHING in this book on a personal level. Everyone has known hurt in one way or another and how we deal with it...well, sometimes the results are quite comical. I found myself yelling at Kate, laughing at her, feeling sorry for her, and sometimes even crying with her. I enjoyed DEDICATION because it took me on a ride of emotions. I wanted to hate the book because the premise of hunting down a high school love to prove him wrong years later was, I thought, completely absurd. Instead, I found myself loving it and not wanting to admit it.

Horrible. Boring. I felt St. John completely lacked passion in her writing. It makes me wonder if she is this boring in person. Don't waste your time. It started out with an exciting murder, and then the excitement simply disappeared. Maybe she should focus her writing on other people and not herself. *yawn*

Once again, filled with girly drama, this chick lit book did not fail to provide me with awful characters that I just loved to hate. Rachel, codependent queen, and Darcy, human wrecking ball, provided a few hours of entertainment for me. I can't wait to read the story from Darcy's side.

I've been reading some fun books lately and this falls into that category.
I didn't think I would like this book, but I really did. Once again, it is typical chick lit with the stupid girl unable to stand up for herself. What I loved the most about this book, though, was it made me want to shred it, throw it, stomp on it, and burn it. Any book that makes me feel any kind of strong emotion is fun in my world.

I was expecting this to be as funny as Stephanie Plum, but sadly, it wasn't. I have been told not to give up though as they get funnier. So, I haven't given up on Bubbles yet. While there *were* funny moments, because I went in with expectations, I was disappointed. It was, however, a quick, easy read.

I enjoyed it but I thought this would make a better movie than a book, actually. It takes place in post-apocalyptic America where a father and son fight for their lives in a losing battle. McCarthy truly shows a world where there is no hope, yet people continue living as if there is.

I remember reading it, and I remember enjoying it, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was about. A girl saves the president's life, and the unpopular world she once lived in is over.

I went to the library to check out The Song is You (I think) and I got this one by mistake. I can't wait to read The Song is You. I love LOVE the style of the book. I had a lot of fun reading it, and I could not put it down. I tried. I simply couldn't do it.

Island Girl was not what I expected at all. It is a sweet story of friendship and belonging. Every summer Meg visits her grandparents at the island, but this year, Tia is there. Meg is threatened at first, but then they become fast friends. Meg is unsure of the future and where she might live (with father or with mother and step-father), but in the end, she realizes everything happens for a reason.

Queen of Babble was a bit odd, actually. Enjoyable, but odd. Completely unrealistic, yet at times it does have realistic moments. Lizzie takes off to London to be with her boyfriend of three months (whom I believe she has only seen once). Things, predictably, don't go as planned and chaos reigns! Of course, Lizzie eventually meets her true love but it isn't without a struggle. I'm so glad I don't live in Lizzie's world.

An interesting story. At times it just seemed to drone on and on with exposition (which I hate), but other than that, I truly enjoyed it. Who wouldn't love immortality without having to suck the blood of your friends? Simply go to the house that stood still, and immortality shall be yours!

Marley and Me is truly a heart warming story, but it isn't just about a dog (like I expected), it is about a family. Grogan takes the reader through a roller coaster of emotions, with Marley always present. Even though Marley destroys the house on multiple occasions and has been kicked out of obedience school, I found myself wanting a "Marley" of my own. Thank god Tweezer hates dogs! This book had me crying, laughing, and crying and laughing at the same time. It just goes to show you how our pets are not really pets. They are simply family members that walk and talk differently than we do.

Ever since a severe ear infection caused Alli to miss two months of sixth grade, she's felt like a "social nobody." Seventh grade looks like it may be a struggle, too: on the first day, static caused her mother's underwear to cling to the inside of Alli's pant leg. No wonder she's surprised and excited when she starts getting attention from popular Rachel. The book unfolds through Alli's journal entries, with instant message sessions and e-mails scattered throughout, and readers may have a hard time believing that a seventh-grader would write so copiously. However, Myracle (ttyl) has an obvious grasp of the age group, and readers are sure to understand Alli's desire to be popular and her frustration at her friends for feeling ditched. They'll also recognize the range of cruel behavior that can occur, even between friends. (In one scene, Alli's supposedly best friend, Kathy, tells a new student about how Alli got fat when she was sick; in another, Rachel convinces the class outcast to shave his eyebrows, telling him that it will be "hilarious.") Though the trajectory here is mostly predictable, Alli's final insights about Kathy make for a unique twist. Ages 9-up. (Aug.) Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
Once again, Lauren Myracle does not fail to entertain me. This book reminded me of how difficult it was at that age to fit in. It also reminded me of how difficult it is at this age to fit in, and how, at times, we are all obsessed with fitting in with a group. It is also a great book teaching us (young and old alike) about what friends REALLY are!

Sometimes I feel like I have walked into the middle of a movie. Maybe I can make my own movie. The film will be the story of my life. No, not my life, but of this experience. I'll call it what the lady who is the prosecutor called me.
MONSTER
FADE IN; INTERIOR COURT. A guard sits at a desk behind STEVE. KATHY O'BRIEN, STEVE's lawyer, is all business as she talks to STEVE.
- O'BRIEN
Let me make sure you understand what's going on. Both you and this King character are on trial for felony murder. Felony murder is as serious as it gets .. When you're in court, you sit there and pay attention. You let the jury know that you think the case is as serious as they do.
- STEVE
You think we're going to win?
- O'BRIEN (seriously)
It probably depends on what you mean by "win".

Cameron: "Deep inside, you know that whoever gets up in your face gets there because he knows you're nothing, and he knows that you know it too."
Carla: "What I'm trying to do is to get by -- not even get over, just get by."
Leonard: "I have bought a gaw-juss weapon. It lies beneath my bed like a secret lover, quiet, powerful, waiting to work my magic."
Statement of Fact: 17-year-old white male found dead in the aftermath of a shooting incident at Madison High School in Harrison County.
Conclusion: Death by self-inflicted wound.
I found this book interesting an a bit unique in format. Worth reading.
