Reason for Reading: reading cove history
For a family saga, I actually enjoyed this one. Most of the characters are developed in a way that makes the reader actually care about them. It was a quick read as well and I didn't have problems keeping up with the characters (after the initial confusion wore off LOL).
For generations, the Nash and Douglas families have been the ruling aristocracy in the southern town of Nashborough, and in the 1920s they still hold firmly to their traditions and position in society. But when the stock market crashes, so does their insular world. Over the next three decades, against an expansive canvas of rapidly changing times, their two dynasties struggle to survive against the decline of traditional family life accelerating across America. Through tragedy and triumph, they battle to remain intact, preserving Southern grace as the older generation slowly fades and a new one comes of age. In the sweeping tradition of New York Times bestselling novelist Susan Howatch, Nashborough is a big, rich, and deliciously satisfying saga.
