Pork Butt

Can someone please explain to me what is so appealing about eating something called "pork butt"?

Smush

I am Smushie sitting this week.  In addition to living with him, I still have my house to take care of and my stupid job to go to.  Each time I leave the house, poor Smush looks like the most pathetic creature known to man.  His tail droops...his eyes droop...I can just hear him, "Pleeeeeeeeezzzzzzzeeeeeeeeee don't leeeeeeeeeeeeaaavvveeeeee meeeeeeeeee."

Yet, every time I return, I open the door and there he is...jumping up and down, wagging his little tail, spinning around in circles, giving kisses.  I *heart* him and he *hearts* me!

Annoyed Tweezer

I completely and thoroughly want to gouge out the eyes of my jerk boss and the jerk my boss hired two months ago.  I am so fed up with them I could vomit.

I'm a pet bird

  • Aug. 7th, 2007 at 1:37 PM

I'm bored working at the county fair. This is just yet ANOTHER reason I hate my job and life. So I'm taking all sorts of stupid quizzes. The scary thing is, this one pretty accurate.

You Would Be a Pet Bird

You're intelligent and witty, yet surprisingly low maintenance.
You charm people easily, and they usually love you a lot more than you love them.
You resent anyone who tries to own or control you. You refuse to be fenced in.

Why you would make a great pet: You're very smart and entertaining

Why you would make a bad pet: You're not interested in being anyone's pet!

What you would love about being a bird: Flying, obviously

What you would hate about being a bird: Being caged

Meh...

So Gizmo is doing remarkably well.  He is snuggled in his blanky here because he was shivering cold (he hates getting his hair cut).

He has gained tons of weight (he is quite the fatty again).  He is eating almost every meal and is bouncing around like he owns the place again.  Who knows what was wrong with him.  Either nothing was wrong and he just hated his food (my parents switched foods), or the herbs from the acupuncturist work.  I don't care what was wrong.  He is pretty much back to normal now.  Thanks to everyone for their wonderful thoughts.  I truly do appreciate it.

I'm finished for the week at work...yes, it is only Monday afternoon.  This week is going to SUCK in the boredom department.  I've received more rejection letters for more jobs.  Trying my hardest to not become bitter but it doesn't seem to be working.

Oh...I quit smoking :)  I had my last cigarette around 11:00PM on July 3, 2007.  I'm doing fairly well with it too.  Some days are better than others, but I've not had a single puff.  I'm proud of me.  My four month gift (don't ask why four months) will be a Wii :)

Thank you so much [info]artisticalias for the nudge.  I truly appreciate it.

For a family saga, I actually enjoyed this one. Most of the characters are developed in a way that makes the reader actually care about them. It was a quick read as well and I didn't have problems keeping up with the characters (after the initial confusion wore off LOL).

Once I got past the ridiculousness of Kate's high-school grudge towards Jake, I truly enjoyed this book.  I don't care who you are, I think everyone can relate to SOMETHING in this book on a personal level.  Everyone has known hurt in one way or another and how we deal with it...well, sometimes the results are quite comical.  I found myself yelling at Kate, laughing at her, feeling sorry for her, and sometimes even crying with her.  I enjoyed DEDICATION because it took me on a ride of emotions.  I wanted to hate the book because the premise of hunting down a high school love to prove him wrong years later was, I thought, completely absurd.  Instead, I found myself loving it and not wanting to admit it.

Horrible.  Boring.  I felt St. John completely lacked passion in her writing.  It makes me wonder if she is this boring in person.  Don't waste your time.  It started out with an exciting murder, and then the excitement simply disappeared.  Maybe she should focus her writing on other people and not herself.  *yawn*

Once again, filled with girly drama, this chick lit book did not fail to provide me with awful characters that I just loved to hate. Rachel, codependent queen, and Darcy, human wrecking ball, provided a few hours of entertainment for me. I can't wait to read the story from Darcy's side.

I've been reading some fun books lately and this falls into that category.

I didn't think I would like this book, but I really did. Once again, it is typical chick lit with the stupid girl unable to stand up for herself. What I loved the most about this book, though, was it made me want to shred it, throw it, stomp on it, and burn it. Any book that makes me feel any kind of strong emotion is fun in my world.

Gizmo update

  • May. 24th, 2007 at 10:06 PM

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts.  I truly appreciate it.  Gizmo is now taking herbs from the acupuncturist *giggle* and it seems to be helping.  I went on vacation for a week and he feels like he has gained some weight :)  Yay Gizmo!!!  He is still droopy and gets tired easily, but he has shown interest in his "babies" and will carry them around sometimes.  He doesn't really play with them, but he does still love on them.  And he is eating most of the time again.  My heart is much lighter.

For some reason, all of a sudden, I can't send picture posts to my account from my phone :(  I have no clue why and no clue how to fix it either.  It is driving me bonkers.

I was expecting this to be as funny as Stephanie Plum, but sadly, it wasn't.  I have been told not to give up though as they get funnier.  So, I haven't given up on Bubbles yet.  While there *were* funny moments, because I went in with expectations, I was disappointed.  It was, however, a quick, easy read.
